May Faith Conversation
1.Opening: If you could stand before the U.S. Congress and try to persuade them to pass a brand-new law, what new law would you want them to consider? What reasons would you give to support the need for this new law?
Thoughts/Discussion: The Kingdom of God happens not only in the future, but also in the present. Those who follow Jesus are called to do what we can, as we can; to establish justice; to reduce oppression; to protect the defenseless; and to promote the common good. No matter who is president, JESUS is KING. What actions do you take to live out this message to the world?
Bible Verse: Philliapian 2:11 “and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”
2.Opening: If you could release a helium balloon with a message card attached to the end of the string, what message would you write for the unknown recipient to read?
Thoughts/Discussion: How was your name determined by your parents? Some people say the most important word for any person to hear is their own name. Are you good at remembering names? Do you have a trick for remembering? It’s crazy to think God knows each and every one of us on earth….that’s 8 billion people. If you add that to all the people who have come before and all the people who will come after that is a crazy high number.
Bible Verse: Luke 12:7 “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
3.Opening: If an ice-cream company asked you to come up with a brand-new flavor of ice cream, what flavor would it be and what creative name would you give it?
Thoughts/Discussion: We each have great gifts to give a troubled world. Discovering our likes and preferences can help us discover the true nature and flavor of our most valuable gifts. Experiencing a wide variety of interests helps you in discovering what sets your heart on fire. What sets your heart on fire? How do you use that in your life? How can you use your gifts to bring glory to God this summer?
Bible Verse: Romans 12:11 “Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord”
